No doubt the Celtic support won’t need any encouragement to engage in some fine community singing tomorrow, much like this cup tie at Dens Park almost a century ago.
It’s unlikely that any ‘lucky rings’ will be on offer for any Celtic fans belting out the tunes as ‘The Bulletin’ newspaper offered to those in fine voice way back then. Polis Scotland will undoubtedly have some lucky rings in the form of handcuffs waiting for any Tims singing anything that might offend their gentle sensibilities. And, of course, they’ll be fearful of another RIOT!!!! breaking out in the away end.
If the game’s anything like the one in February 1927 when Celtic ran out 4-2 winners thanks to goals from McGrory, McLean, Connolly and Willie McStay (the elder!) – before going on to win the Cup itself in the final v East Fife – there’ll be plenty to cheer for those in Celtic colours.
Sing loud & proud bhoys and ghirls!!!
