'Tic Toons - 'The Proud, Proud Celts' 1892

This cartoon commerates the club’s breakthrough success of 1892 when the team, in just its fourth season, won the Scottish Cup, the Glasgow Cup and the Glasgow Charity Cup. Referred to as the ‘shamrock success’, this cup treble demonstrated that Celtic had arrived – and paved the way for the club’s first title the following season.

Key players at the time, represented in the cartoon, included Dan Doyle, James Kelly, Sandy McMahon, Johnny Madden and Willie Maley.
