It is sixty years ago this month and 134,000 fans watch Celtic slug it out with Aberdeen to try and achieve only the 4th League and Cup Double in the club’s history.
The first image from the Pathe footage is of Jock Stein, the Celtic captain, taking part in the coin toss. In just under three minutes we see some of Celtic’s finest players in action: Tully, Fernie, Peacock, Mochan, goalkeeper Johnny Bonnar, Fallon and Evans

Ultimately the glory belonged to Celtic and especially Sean Fallon who scored the winner:

The players and manager Jimmy McGrory proudly pose with the Scottish Cup, the 17th time it had been won by Celtic. The two men sitting either side of the cup would go on to lead the club to their greatest era ever starting just over a decade later.
